MARCHINGBAND
The South Grand Prairie High School Warrior Marching Band is one of the largest and most visible student organizations on campus. A consistent Texas UIL AREA contestant, the Warrior Marching Band is comprised of musicians and color guard members from all grade levels. All students in the marching band must be enrolled in a concert band class. Participating in marching band, students gain valuable team building experience, movement training, have a wide range of performance opportunities, and will earn their PE credit required for graduation.

Auditions for the competitive show are required for all band members and placements are awarded based on the quality of their performance ability – both musically and visually. Musically, the concert ensemble music audition in the Spring semester is considered. Visually, marching/movement visual demonstration is considered following the summer band camps. Previous history regarding each student is also factored into placements, including attendance and academic eligibility.
